Founders of Epperson Putting Greens (now Hardy Putting Greens)
Epperson Putting Greens, LLC was owned by Bill and Becky Epperson with over 20 years experience in the industry, providing quality golf putting greens and practice areas for golfers who want to elevate their golf game to the next level.
When Bill was a scratch handicap golfer. Practicing for hours was the only way to have an excellent short game. Being a family man, he didn’t want to spend hours practicing away from his family. From there, he installed a putting green in his backyard along with his son. Considering that green grass was not ideal because of many factors and lacking synthetic putting materials in the ’80s, Bill designed and manufactured their synthetic putting material. The family has since owned a synthetic putting green in their backyard that rivals the well-crafted greens at any country club. Bill became a 15 handicap golfer from scratch in less than a year and his son Billy made the varsity golf team while still in junior high school.
Bill, diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in 2019, continued with a reduced role in ensuring quality control of the installed artificial putting greens until his passing in 2020.

Jay Hardy became part of the Epperson family when he married Bill and Becky’s granddaughter, becoming the grandson-in-law.
Jay Hardy was a seasoned manager and a foreperson. He brings a considerable skillset from multiple aspects of the construction industry. Under Bill’s tutelage, Jay Hardy became the area’s premier putting green designer and installer. He left his construction career to follow what has become his passion.
Jay Hardy continued the Epperson family business and became the owner of Hardy Putting Greens.
